Hi all,

I'm considering purchasing a Beretta 686E O/U. It fits me pretty well, but I know I need to bring it to a stock fitter to have it professionally adjusted, especially cast and drop. This gun has a high-gloss finish. Does that make bending the stock to add cast-off more difficult? What does the process entail, and how much should I expect to pay? Thanks!

Gloss not an issue. Beretta Gallery Dallas deals with it routinely along with a couple of local shops. Not sure, but I'd bet a donut a couple of benders are doing it for most of the shops that offer the service. Price seems to be 200 to 500 depending on the phase of the moon.

Don't know who does it in PA, but Grant at Sportsmans Supply (Butler) likely does.

The Beretta 687 I got a while back was pretty heavily cast-off "off the rack".
