Benelli M1 Tacticals suck....Range Report

Sory for the delay folks. Real Life (TM) keeps getting in the way of the 'net. :D

I like multiples of firearms. If I find a keeper, I tend to like bunches of them. Makes finding one when needed much eaiser. Probably why I've run when offered the chance to fire a H&K P7. :D

The M1S90 could do a very good "imitation" of a full auto weapon (imitation in quotes as we all know an M1S90 stomps most submachine guns). I just couldn't get comfortable with the different layout of the controls and the manipulation thereof. The choice was clear - sell the 1100/870s and switch or sell the Benelli.

My situation/terrain/threat analysis - the two 870Ps for one Benelli worked for me.

If your not already locked in on the 1100/870 family, it's hard to beat the SBE/M1S90. One of my most gun savy (Ranger and Fed LEO) pals has a SBE with a 24 inch barrel and the extended mag for Casa problems.

BA/UU/R - :neener:

Pistol was rucked by a huge dude in rugby practice during the month of December.

Hopefully he'll be able to hit the range with us soon with his replacement 870.

You know, the one that actually cycles cartridges through it's action.

Daammzooorz. That sucks. I guess he would need a auto-loader since his shoulder won't allow him to pump the gun. That is one of the added benefits of having a auto-loader IMO

Hey 45R now that you have a benelli you should learn to do the Lord Jijo Select Slug Drill. Tell him to send you the vid! Something only a benelli can do :D :D :)

Al, that makes sense. If I like a gun enough to own it, I need at least two in case one has to go to the gunsmith. Then, when I think about it, I need an one more in case the antis try to ban them. Then, I buy one more just in case.

Four M1S90s, Six Garands, 8 Glocks ...

...It is only money you would waste on food or home improvements. All of this is still cheaper than owning a boat.

Nippy,

I've seen variations of Dukes videos. He is like an Asian Billy the Kid with a shotgun. Its so fast you wonder were the slug went! His gun-fu is strong!

I'm waiting for my Benelli oversized charging handle to come in.

Your gonna have to join the darkside soon Nippy!

With the charging handle my hand never bumps the bolt release. Without it I have bumped it a few times trying to get leverage practicing drills.

All I need to complete the project is a generic sling and mag tube ext.

8 days to my own Benelli-phoria. 45R, better buy yourself a recoil pad or roll up a towel. I figure another 300rnd day.

Sactown-
We should see if we can get the good Dr. Jones to come out :) I am sure he would volunteer for your cause! I've got some patterning to do that day also. Can't wait to shoot the Benellis again!

My M3

I'll see if I can snap a picture of it.... I have never had a problem with it, except when I tried to fast reload and my thumb caught up with the feed ramp.

Everyone, who handled it, remarked of its light weight.

BTW,
MaceWindu checking in here, proud owner of: M1S90 and an M1014..

Mace, you really suck - term of endearment here :). The only folk that I think more suck than you is Zak. :neener:

PS: sorry for late addition... I hardly check into the shotgun forum.

In Sactowns defense....he shot a bunch of rifles at the outdoor range before coming into a cold indoor range to shoot shottys. :) Must have been the thawing effect.
