At one of the local shops today, I overheard one of the guys tell another customer that racking the slide back on the Novas, if done slowly will cause a jam.

True or false?

Or is based on something about the Semis? Or maybe he's thinking short stroking?

I'm looking hard at getting one of these soon.

Can't answer specifically but - pump action shotguns are made to be operated vigorously. New shooters, especially women, tend to want to be gentle with the gun and this can lead to jamming and short stroking. Operate it vigorously you won't hurt it !!

A lot of semiauto firearms don't like it if you try to ease the slide or bolt closed; they tend to misfeed. Pumps can do the same at times.

If you're wanting a nova and an extension, get your extension now as they are drying up and becoming very hard to find.

maybe some truth to it , I have never had a problem and have done it real slow just to see

We own a Nova and for the life of me it must not fit me correctly because I short stroke it all the time. I know how to work a pump gun. I love the Nova but I must say I short stroke it frequently. My wife, Sheslinger, runs it just fine. Good thing it is her gun.

I have never ever had the problem you describe with my H20. I however, have it quite often with my 870P.

Like others have said, pump the gun like you mean it.

With that being said, my (fiance's) Nova will cycle when racked slowly.

Slater, that's Tom Knapp's site and those prices would suggest that they're Benelli originals.

If someone isn't all too concerned with Benelli "originals" then there are more readily available and less expensive routes such as DMW.

I'm thinking about picking up another Nova and M1s90 extension while they can still be acquired.

what

are the mag extensions for? Is it for extra shells? How many will it hold without the extension?
