1) I was just hoping someone out there might have some information as to the weather resistance (rain, mud, lake water, sea side salt climate, etc.) of Benelli's Desert Camo finish (specifically on their Super Nova Tactical).

2) I'd also like to know about the durability of the finish - how easily does it wear off leaving exposed metal, etc?

I was originally going to go with the H2O in the basic Nova Tactical config. - and I probably still will. However I like the Super Nova very much - and I'm specifically attracted to the desert camo finish.

3) Also, one last question: Are all of the steel the internals on Super Nova's treated or coated with something encase it's dropped in water (nickels, something else?) - regardless of the exterior finish?

Thanks.

I can only help with your last question. As far as I know the internals of the reciever, trigger group, and bolt are not coated in anything besides a light film of oil on the Supernovas. I believe the h2o is all stainless pieces. I recall someone saying the reciever itself is aluminum on the supernova Im not 100% on that though. But I know the action bars, bolt assembly and trigger group are just steel. That being said I've dunked mine in the swamp, used it in the rain and have had snow in the reciever. Used a bottle of water to flush out the crap and With a light coat of good oil, nothing has ever rusted. I cant comment on the finish because I dont have the camo version, sorry.

Anyone know where to get the Benelli oil? My supernova came coated in it from the factory and I really like it.

I have a standard finish supernova tactical. I have held the desert cammo models, and to me the finish is tacky, and not worth the huge amount of money they charge for it. I am sure the durability would be decent.

The insides of mine have a matte black finish, I have never had a rust issue

i dropped my non-super nova in a mudhole once and it continued to fire after i pulled it out. after i cleaned it good by taking out the trigger group i just oiled everything lightly and i have never had a rust issue.
