Thinking of buying a Benelli Super Nova Tactical Pump 12g 18" Black RS. Wonders if any own one or have handle them and what their opinions are.

Smoke,

I haven't ever owned one. Have handled a couple of Novas but that's it. I don't care for 3 1/2" chambered pump guns at all, no matter what brand, and don't like the fixed stock on Novas (can't replace the stock yourself and it's a bear to shorten if needed). Plus they rattle.

But that's just me and I am an oldphart you don't have to listen to if you don't want to. Look on the index page of the Shotgun forum at http://www.thehighroad.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=7 , at the right-hand end of the second green bar at the top of the page. See where it says "SEARCH THIS FORUM?" Click on that, type in 'Benelli Nova' and read for a while. It's been talked about here before...

Lee, I believe he is asking about the Super Nova which does have the removable stock.

I don't have one myself, but the Super Nova is high on my list if I were to buy a new pump. I've heard nothing but good things about it myself.

I have a Nova and have only handled a Super Nova. The Super Nova has a thicker trigger guard and does not have the rattling forend that the Nova has.

I love mine. Had it for only a week though. It is easily adjustable for drop and cast, sturdy, and it looks cool. I'm ordering the Benelli Comfortech gel pad to replace the factory Comfortech rubber pad, I'm getting the 14" LOP to replace the original 14-3/8". It was a tad long for me. I got the straight stocked model and it shoulders very nicely. The ghost ring sights are very well made and accurate. Let me know if you need any further info. But as someone is probably going to add to this thread----it's not an 870!!! Believe it or not, there are other pump shotguns for sale. :)

Yes, although the factory ext. are almost non-existent. Tac Star makes one, but I have not ordered one yet.

Thanks for all the posts regarding the Benelli shotgun, they are very helpful in helping me make a decision. It's good to know that I'll be able to change out the stock if I wanted to.

Thanks for the info. I got a mag extension when I got a Nova so if I ever decide to upgrade to Super, I can swap out mag ends if I need to (if I can't find another mag extension).

I have a Nova and a Super Nova. My Super Nova is a Tactical with the 18 1/2" barrel and the goust ring sights. I have the Benelli mag. ext. on the SNT and the are hard to find. I got the last two my gun dealer had. I have a Tacstar shell holder and a light mount from Insight. I will be using a Eotech and another shell holder on the stock from Mesa Tactical. 2cnfm8l.jpg 2eol74y].jpg

Great gun

Just picked this gun up about 2 days go, I need the mag extension other then that its a great gun, no real need to up grade anything. A few of my friends who are cops where in awe when they saw it and shot it, and now there out to buy there own. In general. Nova is a high quality, light weight and hard-hitting weapon, the Super Nova Tactical is really only good for home defense or close range hunting, the guy at the store said its accurate up to 60 yards, but I have yet to test that. Also you don't have removable chokes. You can always buy another barrel. Well I hope that helps.

wow, whats that sight run for? Where in the heck can I find the extension, I've looked at all the local stores? How much did you pay for extension? And is it legal, because then it can hold 7 right?

you know yesterday I went out and shot about 75 shells in my backyard, I must say this gun is ultra smooth and reliable as of now, but wow.

telescopic stock

hey guys,

does anybody know if the m4 telescopic stock may fit the supernova???i read the supernova has some modular stock system where you can choose one of three stocks...normal,pistol grip and telescopic with pistol grip...
I thought it may be the same as on the m4, but the m4 has a skeletonized one...
My question is:is it possible to use the m4 skel. stock on the supernova???
It looks they use the same pistol-grip stocks...so what do you think??does anybody know???

thanks
tommy
