I always thought it would be great to have a pocket gun, but I could never find one that fit my hand … that was until two days ago. I handled a Tomcat at a pawn shop the other day simply because it was there. Holly mackerel! It just fit like … well, like a glove. But darn - it’s a mouse gun!

I went home and thought about how nicely that little Tomcat fit all night. Finally I went on-line and looked up Buffalo Bore’s .320 ACP. 71 grains, with a muzzle velocity of 1150fps, and a muzzle energy of 220ft.lbs! I went out and bought that Tomcat the next day.

I can’t tell you how disappointed I was when I opened the box to find a NOTICE. Beretta is recommending no ammo over 130ft.lbs of muzzle energy … sigh.

The other thing I have found is in my part of the world, .320 isn’t that popular lol. Hence, not much ammo selection either.

So here’s the thing: I am going to make an order to Midway. If you have a Tomcat, what do you load it with for S/D. What do you use for range time? Has anyone used the Buffalo bore in their Tomcat?

Thanks in advance – monkey.

I've used the Winchester Silvertip and it works fine. I have also bought some Fiocchi (Hornady XTP bullet, same ballistics as the Silvertips), but haven't had a chance to shoot them yet.

In my P32 I carried the Fiocchi 60gr SJHP for the first round followed by Fiocchi 73gr FMJ for the rest of the mag to avoid rimlock. The 60gr Fiocchi is a stout load for the little guns. I don't know if rimlock is an issue with the Tomcats but I would look into it as it my severely limit your ammo choices.

Actually, I prefer my own handloads with XTP bullets - bang up accuracy and feeding.
With factory ammo, the gold dots and Win Silvertips have been accurate and reliable.
My old pistol really did not like any of the 71gr round nose offerings from anybody - almost every magazine full of any of those always caused at least one feed failure.

S&B or Fiocchi Ball, both of these loads have almost 100fps over other ball loads.

It's my opinion that JHP's for 32 don't offer anything even close to a adequate amount of penetration
