Hey guys,
I purchased a beautiful Beretta 87 Cheetah a few weeks ago at a gunshow brand new. It seemed to fit the bill for exactly what I was looking for, a nice looking, high quality 22lr pistol that looks and functions like a normal autoloader. I finally got to take her out on Saturday and kill some paper and it left me a little disappointed. The pistol performed wonderfully without any malfunctions, however, the accuracy seems very off. It shoots low and to the left in a shotgun-like pattern. I'll admit that I am not a marksman but I do know that I am a respectable shot with my 92 or my CZ75. I realize that the 87 has a shorter sight radius but my accuracy didn't improve at all throughout my session as I would expect it to after getting used to a new pistol. Also, I was shooting a few different brands of ammo with similar results. BTW, mine is the regular model and NOT the Target model.

What are THR thoughts on this particular pistol? Anyone else have one and experience similar results? Are there any sight adjustments that can be made? I was wondering about trying to "drift" the rear sight slightly to bring my shots back to center. Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

Have you tried different ammo to find what this gun likes? That's a good place to start. Get your groups tight before you mess with the sights.

I tried about 3 different types of ammo. I'll admit the ammo I was using was old. It's been in storage for several years. I'm going to shoot it again soon and try some brand new CCI Mini Mags next time.

After doing some more research it seems that a few other people have experienced a similar issue with shots landing low and to the left. I might end up having to drift my rear sight a little to center up the POI. I'm going to try some more ammo types first to see if I can tighten up my groups a little.

I'm still interested to hear from any other 87 Cheetah owners out there regarding accuracy and a possible break-in period.

low left is typical shot placement for a right handed shooter who is pulling his shots....

sandbag it and try it again with fresh ammo.
