Skunkabilly,

"You know, I don't know why I didn't think of the fanny pack."

I know! Because fanny packs aren't tactical! :neener:

Maybe I'll get another P7M8 as my beater gun :D :D :D

Of course I'll sell everything I owned to pay for the next two...so I can have 4 as recommended by my favorite Indianan.

Man...kinda tempted to get an HK fullsize for when I leave Cali, I'm going to get boatloads of 15 rounders!!! Going for broke! Wait...since my living expenses will be cut in half...I can get twice as much when I go for broke! Reehaw!!

Ok.

Thing with Berettas is I can't go to the 92FS . I love the 92FS but I've trained myself with the 92G, and while the same gun, one has a manual safety, the other doesn't. I'd get totally dorked up trying to figure out which one is on my belt and would stick with the G-models. So if I got the Beretta, it would be a 92G-SD, the black Brigadier with the light rail, bringing the cost close to that of a USP9, so the price is a moot point.

I'm been pondering the fanny pack thing. But I don't go outdoors that much anymore. Too much class on the weekends, and every time we schedule a hike, we get rained out. I'd go in the rain, but they end up cancelling them, so I shoot matches instead!

Can the 92fs be converted to decock only? How difficult would it be to have an armorer convert one?

If you're really against the 'fs' then I guess you've answered your own inquiry...get the USP 9 & then when you leave the state you can stock up on real mags.

Oh Skunk, how I HATE to say this...

Buy the...Ugh...Darn...U...S...P...Ohhhh

I like the Beretta. I hate the USP. The reason I don't like the HK is that it doesn't fit my hand, the grip feels like I'm holding a pineapple, and the safety jabs my thumb right near the base. Well, If it fits your hand, it's definately reiliable, accuarate, and it is a bit lighter than the Beretta.

The only G models available to you right now ***gotta love CA*** are Brigadier versions (Elite and GSD) which will make the gun heavier.

I like the idea of another P7 (I just got a really nice P7 PSP for $650) but it's too nice a gun for a "beater" and requires a bit too much upkeep.

A USP9F or USP9C sound like the way to go for the options you chose.

One last question...Why not the current USP .45 you have. I should be the last person to advocate NOT buying another gun, but with the exception of capacity, I'd take the USP .45 over any of the other choices.

Well, good luck and good shopping. Let us know what you decide.

Yeah, I always think about spending $500+ for my beater gun! *cough*
:p

Get a Ruger auto. It'll take any beating no problem, and it'll cost you maybe $300 new, considerably less if used.

10-ring, it's really easy to convert a Beretta 92FS to cock & lock but not worth anyone's time, trouble or money to decock only. Go figure. As much as I like C&L I don't want two different manual of arms on the same gun(s). Too confusing.

USP9C sounds great, but I want to see how the P2000 stacks up to it. I guess I'll wait. I don't go canoeing much and dont' have my CCW just yet anyway.

I bought my HK USPc 9mm expressly

for the backcountry and mountains. 21 rounds, two mags, Safepacker holster, Proload and FMJ, what more do I really need.
