Beretta 92FS Blued or Inox?

I got the Beretta bug thanks to Skunky's tacticool Beretta pics. What are the pros and cons of a 92FS blued and an Inox?

Once, I would have said Inox, as it was the classiest looking Beretta out there, but if they are still festooning it with a black plastic trigger and safety levers, get the black one instead.

INOX - mainly because I'm partial to INOX/hard chrome/stainless guns. Finish is easy to maintain and holds up well. Some may state that they are not good for "defensive" guns if you use it at night (flashy or something) but that's not an issue I'm going to argue about because it all comes down to preference and ones perspective or intended primary use for the gun.

Beretta does have INOX models that do NOT have the black controls but I agree that those that do are not especially appealing. If you go INOX, find one that does NOT have those black controls/trigger. They're out there.

What does INOX mean exactly?

I saw that in the Beretta catalog and couldn't figure it out.

Well INOX is stainless steel but is also used to refer to "silver finish" etc by some companies. Where the actual word INOX comes from is beyond me.

INOX - Iron Nickle Oxide, if I remember correctly.

Just do what I did: buy one of each and two-tone them. hehe

I had a blued 92 FS and a 92 Brigadier Inox. Getting rid of them, especially the Brigadier, was a mistake. If I had to get another one, I'd look for one made prior to the current plastic parts generation.

Inox I would presume is Beretta's trademark version of the French "Inoxidable" or the Italian "Inossidabile" which both mean "Stainless", as in stainless steel; like using "SS" or something in English.

I have oneof each...vintage '92 I like both. I haven't had the "pleasure" of handling one of the newer ones w/ the plastic parts but if they're really that bad, I understand the aftermarket for metal replacement parts is available to you!
Honestly, you'll prolly end up w/ both anyway

if I bought a blued pistols first thing I would do is dump it in Rust Remover then send it off to get refinished

Never had a problem with rust on either a blued or Inox. The plastic parts don't bother me. My buddy's INOX with plastic parts drives tacks all day. I guess it's more of an anethestic thing. Thanks for the response. Keep them coming.

One thing I don't like about the Inox pistols - the front sight is also silver. I don't like the resulting sight picture. I suppose a little black paint could be applied . . .

GT is correct.Inox is Inossidabile for stainless in Italiano~!

i like the blued one because it has chrome lined barrel. the stainless doesn't have that.
