I saw a Beretta 92FS two-tone / INOX that has red dot sights instead of the white dot sights. Anyone else ran into this or knows why they colored them red? They seem harder to pick out against a background I would think. Thanks.

I have a 92FS satin stainless with the red dot sights. All parts on the gun are stainless colored except for the rear sight that is blued and mags. Also the frame is aluminum, I have usually seen them with blued mag rel, grip screws and dis. latch. Sorry about the picture I have a cheap camera.

The Italian version is all stainless, both sights, mag release, safety, mag, base plate, etc. You can just fill the holes in with white sight paint on top of the red...then if you want to remove it, just twist a drill bit in the holes with your fingers to cut it out. The white should be easier to see if you have a black rear sight...not so much if the rear sight is stainless...there's no contrast for the brain to process. With stainless sights, you're better off sooting them with a lighter and shooting off the silhouette of the sight posts.
