Hello everyone. For those who don't know me I'm not exactly wealthy but hard work and saving pays off. I now have enough to by a Beretta 96 a1 plus ammo and holsters.
I saw it at the LGS today and immediately fell in love and I'll be getting it first thing tomorrow.
I know that Beretta is a reputable brand and I guess I'd like to know if anyone has had experience with the 96 and what they think of it.
I'll have pics tomorrow.

Not with the 96 yet, but i like my new 92FS so much i'm considering selling my XD40 Tactical and purchasing a 96. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours.

I have a 96FS INOX, and it is absolutely my favorite pistol I've ever handled or owned.
Built like a tank, fits like a glove, and very accurate.

Mec-Gar makes 15 round magazines for them, that have the same groove lines in them as the frame, they also seem to give me more leverage due to the slight extra length.

I got mine from Midway.

You will not regret buying that gun.

I went with the 96 Brigadier instead because I didn't like the rail on the a1.
Man what an awesome weapon!!!

Beretta 96 pistols are reliable, tough, and extremely accurate pistols. The only downside is that since they are all metal, they are heavy compared to polymer pistols.

Yea the gun is heavy enough

With out a light. Imagine the sure fire thing on your rig while carrying. Unles you are an elite operator chances are You will never need a rail mount. Unless you are in to tacticool. I just bought a 92fs bnib can't say the rail is worth the extra 50.

+1 on unnecessary rail. I love this pistol to death. I put 110 rounds through it today and the only problem...
I couldn't get rid of that ear to ear grin on my face!
