I am looking to purchase a spare recoil spring for my 96. I believe the factory spring is 13 lbs.
I do not need to replace my factory spring yet, but I would like to have a spare on hand. I went to Wolff's website and they have a wide array of spring weights. Any recommendations?
I was thinking of going a few pounds heavier. Maybe a 15 lb. spring?

I use a 15lb spring in my E2 .40, but sometime I use the 16lb for no reason. It doesn't matter much. I would just go with the 15lb.

I guess it will also depend on what kind of shooting & ammo you will be using. If it's standard pressure for range or IDPA, the standard weight should be fine (I believe that would be #14). If you're going to be shooting mostly hotter defensive ammo, go up a pound...#15.

Thanks for the replies. I shoot mostly standard pressure factory ammo. I do on occasion shoot some hotter stuff like Corbon and Triton. I think I'll order the 15# spring. My biggest concern was getting too stiff of a spring, and the action not cycling properly with standard pressure ammo. Thanks again.

Wolff Springs are really good springs! I bought some for a 92fs I bought used. Replaced the trigger, hammer, firing pin & recoil spring...good luck!
