I'm going through some mental gymnastics. Montana is about to legalize suppressors for hunting, yay!

I have a Beretta A400 12ga that I love for upland game. I'd like to stick a Silencerco Salvo 12 suppressor on it, but a ~2lb suppressor way out on the end of a 28" barrel is going to be a little awkward.

So, I could get a new barrel and have it shortened to around 21" and rethreaded for chokes which is how the Salvo 12 attaches.

Or, Beretta has a 22" slug barrel. It is vent ribbed and has a fiber optic sight. It says fixed choke, but there is no mention on if it is rifled or not. If it is smoothbore, I might be able to save a few bucks and have that barrel threaded for chokes. Anybody know any details on this barrel? Their site does not specify.

Has anybody been down this road with an A400?

Maybe, maybe not. Plus, the suppressor is modular so you can take sections off to lighten it at the expense of some of the noise suppression.

Do you have any input on the actual question?

Nope, not on suppressors, but yes on added weight at the muzzle, and it totally sucks for swinging on game

Using it as a rifle is one thing, swinging it is another story.
