Beretta comparison

It might just be me but I cant find anything on Berettas website about the different models exept the specs. Nothing about the features that makes each one different. Particularly between these three models.

1) Beretta 3901 American Citizen.........Academy has them for $699
2) Beretta AL391 Urika 2....................Local shop for $799
3) Beretta AL391 Urika.......................Haven't seen one local but msrp is more than urika 2

If someone could point me in the right direction to see the different features of each I would be very greatfull. All I looked at were synthetic which is what I want.

Putting aside obvious differences between specific guns like barrel length and wood or polymer stock, the main difference is that the 3901 is the same as the old 390 but made in the U.S.A. Berreta discontinued the 390 but then realized there was still a lot of demand for a less expensive model so they reintroduced it as the 3901. The 390 has a simpler gas system then the 391 model so is slightly easier to clean. The blueing on the 391 is glossier and the wood is also nicer. The 391 has a narrower forearm because of the different gas system. The differences between the Urika and the Urika 2 are trivial. All three are basically the same in terms of quality, so it really just depends on how much more money you want to pay for cosmetics and having the newest model.

AFAIK the 391 comes with a fitted hard case, whereas the 3901 comes in a cardboard box.

If you want a synthetic in one or the other, I'd lean towards the 391 if you want the case or the 3901 if you don't. I believe the 391 is a tad lighter.

Depending on the exact model (sometimes hard to decipher) the 391 may have the Optima barrel (longer choke tube, slightly larger bore) and a nicer synthetic stock with rubberized gripping surfaces.

I doubt you'll be unhappy with any of them.
