I do not see anything about the CX4 on this forum. Perhaps the search feature is not liking the short phrase '"CX4" for search purposes.

Anyways, I just wanted to share a pic of my Beretta CX4 and see if anyone else on here has one, how they like it and possibly share their pics and specs.

Stock, I am not much of a fan. But, after the upgrades, I am loving this baby.

Current Upgrades:
MFI FS2000 barrel shroud
Irene Adaptive Sling
Magpul RSA rail sling mount
Magpul RVG MOE Foregrip
Sierra Papa Stainless guide rod
Sierra Papa heavy duty buffer
Sierra Papa main spring guide stop
Bushnell TRS-25
UTG 1/2" riser

Gunsmithing (self) Upgrades:
Smoothed out the Safety actuation

Lightened trigger pull, by sanding the hammer, per illustrations:

Beretta Cx4 Storms

Great Little Tupperware Carbines.
Stated Purchasing Cx4s mine back when Beretta first introduced them .

I always felt the Down Side in the Series was the 45ACP Model not having a Higher Count Mag available.

Due to the Dependabiliy of the Cx4 and the Availability of Good 30 Round Mags the 9MM
Model Was And Is very desirable as a Pistol Caliber 3 Gun Carbine.

The 9MM Model I kept has had Hundreds of Rounds thru it and is a Excellent Carbine
Never made any internal changes to my guns, just added a Good Red Dot and a Muzzle Shroud.

I have one to go with my PX4 and use the 17 round mags. I haven't made any changes to it except a barrel shroud that really has no function. The factory flip site works fine for me. Super fun gun to shoot and surprisingly accurate.

Great looking rifle. Mine has been flawless except one FTE with Wolf steel.
Hate the trigger, but I got over it. Seriously considering the Sierra Papa kit, but can not justify the cost right now. Mags are easy to find and less expensive when compared with other similar capacity/caliber options. Mine's running an Eotech 511 and a Bianchi mag pouch screwed to the stock.

I love my CX4 as well. I have the 9mm version with the 92FS magazine configuration. My goodness it is a fantastic shooter. Low recoil and super accurate. I've put maybe 300 rounds through it. Bought it used, and the seller claimed to have 200 rounds through it. I put a Primary Arms red dot sight (Aimpoint M4 clone) with a low profile American Defense mount to get a lower 1/3 co-witness with the iron sights. The gun is super accurate with the iron sights. I have a lot of fun putting ragged holes in targets with that gun.

I "installed" the Sierra Papa stainless steel recoil spring upgrade kit. I have the trigger kit waiting to install as well. Just waiting for a free Saturday afternoon where I can strip the gun down, clean it, do the install, and then take it to the range to verify function.

Atticaz, thanks for the pictures/drawings of the self gunsmithing work. Looks cool! Any functional problems after making the changes? I would be nervous about filing parts down that are associated with trigger pull. Any good videos on taking apart the trigger to install the Sierra Papa kit?

I had a .45ACP model. Ammo costs were rough, but I'd gladly buy a 9mm version.

It works great with the self hammer/trigger job. The Sierra Papa stainless trigger come shaped the way I reshaped my stock Poly hammer. I just did this for now so that my trigger would be better until I got my tax refund. I am buying the SP hammer as soon as I get it.

Let me know how you like the Sierra Papa trigger, once it is installed. I keep hearing stories that there is a bit of wiggle in them. I am holding off from buying the trigger, until I hear more from members.

Will do. I plan to install it in a couple of weeks and get it out to the range. According to the Sierra Pappa website, there is some tuning you can do to adjust the pull. But it requires iteratively adjusting a set screw, followed by putting rounds down range. Not something I would feel comfortable doing at a crowded indoor range, especially if I have to do a field strip repeatedly. Might have to wait for some time at a private outdoor range or at a friends farm.

FYI, you can buy the Sierra Pappa parts/kits through Brownells!

I've had one for more than a year, same version as yours. Great carbine. I've been thinking of getting the Sierra papa upgrades...someday.

Had the exact one you've got a few years ago. neat rifle but sold it. got kinda bored with it. didn't really like the plastic bolt release and the surprising recoil generated by the heavy bolt. was expecting a much softer shooting gun. traded it for a s&w 629. still have the front sight tool and a mag floating around somewhere.

Here is an update to my SP trigger work:

1) I installed the trigger, hammer, and hammer spring over the weekend. The Sierra Papa website made it sound like changing out the trigger would be a huge pain in the butt. However, I found the trigger group very easy to work on, especially with the information, pictures, and links provided by the SP website. Getting the bolt stop bar back in was a bit tricky, but I took SP's advice and bought a hook-like tool to help me hold the trigger spring out of the way of the bolt stop bar.

2) I "pre-tuned" the trigger pull by adjusting the set screw with snap caps. I think I have it tuned to where there shouldn't be an issue with cycling live rounds. I am going to take it to an outdoor range today to test fire it and finish sighting in my red dot. Assuming the trigger resets each time, I am not going to fine tune the pull any more.

3) If anyone in the Houston area needs/wants help installing the trigger or hammer, please let me know!

Bushnell TRS-25
UTG 1/2" riser

Why the riser?

I have a Primary Arms dot on my CX4 that is practically identical to the TRS25; and it co-witnesses with the irons. I'm curious.

Been very pleased with the 92F series model I purchased several years ago. Just after purchasing it I had a trigger job performed by a company named Tactical Excellence. One of their techs had been trainned by Beretta and they became quite busy as the popularity of the model grew. That's a Burris Speed Dot 1X35, 3 MOA Scope which cowittnesses with the front and rear sights.

I put on a barrel shroud, oops sorry Shoulder Thing That Goes Up, because someone keeps saying how much more deadly it is with one. Mine must be defective because the holes are the same size with as they are with out it. I must be doing something wrong.

I am not a co-witness fan and I don't like viewing through the sight ears. The 1/2" riser raises the RDS just enough to get the ears out of the field of view.

Good rifles. I had one in 9mm that I just plain got bored with. I cant find a purpose for a 9mm rifle. Coyotes drop to my .223, anything bigger goes down with a .44mag. For plinking, .22lr beats 9mm all day for practice (cost, accuracy, recoil, noise). Oh, and the cheek slap on the Beretta was a deal killer for me. Like getting backhanded in the face with every round. I really liked it though, even with the downsides. Nowadays they are terribly overpriced ($800:what:) for an upscale Hi-Point carbine.

I'd like to think that the CX4 is better than a upscale High Point, Lol! I struggled with the point of a 9mm carbine as well, but I like the fact I can shoot at any indoor range, and that it shares mags with my 92FS. I don't find shooting .22 at the range very exciting, but shooting this in 9mm is a lot of fun. Haven't noticed a problem with cheek slap either...

I got a 92 version and a .45 back when you could still get them for less than $600 at Bud's. The youngster sports the 9mm and gets the benefit of cheap/plentiful military magazines along with access to 30 round MecGars straight from the factory supply depot ( no need to resort to Promag or other questionable magazines).
The .45 is a bit more exciting, and it's quite nice to share mags with my big bore Cougar. I just wish that the SP 16 round mags weren't so expensive.
It's a toss-up for me as to whether to send some of my eights and spend for a couple of them -or- opt for thier trigger kit instead.
I'm a bit concerned that the magazine conversion won't be available/possible if this gub'mint hoo-haw continues to be more than just a wish list for that California witch and her flying monkeys.

Great little carbine...if you want to spend a lot more money than on a hi point. The trigger could use some work...but it was a tack driver right out of the box.

Put a red dot on it and can hit the bullseye all day long at 50 yards standing. Great plinker for teaching gun safety too. Easy to use...easy to shoot.

Where do you get these 30 rd MecGars? I have some 18+2 that work great. I tried some ProMag 30s and they sucked.
