Beretta CX4 9mm carbine...pleasant surprise!

The wife and I took our new CX4 to the range for the first time yesterday. What a pleasant surprise! Straight out of the case, and shooting CCI blazer, it was dead on target. No messing with the sights, and no FTF or FTE's whatsoever What a nice little ergonomic package!

May have to get a 92 now...

Does anybody know if this an acceptable weapon for some 3 gun competitions? Thanks!

PCCs (pistol caliber carbines) could be required at some competitions. A couple of the matches I shoot at require PCCs due to range safety limitations.

Other matches allow PPCs but class them separately. A 8lb 9mmP weapon has some distinct advantages with really close up stages. OTOH, 9mmP drops like a rock over 150 yards or so.

What!?!? You can't use a PCC! It's an ancient dinosaur that has no place in anyone's hands today! Only an AR-15 will do.

Congrats on snagging that fine Beretta. You'll find the PCC is very handy, has a ton of applications, and is a hoot to shoot. I've got carbines in 9, 40, and 45 - each one is an awful lot of fun to shoot and very very accurate at your typical engagement ranges.

As BSW said, once you start getting out past 100 yards, though, you can still use one if you understand just how much the bullet drops but you'd be best served by not taking the shot.

Good little carbines. I load mine up with 90gr gold dots for varmints shooting. It's pretty easy to take them out at 50-60 yds using open sights. I might be the only person that uses a 9mm carbine and a .308 for varmint shooting.
