i just wanted to know if this is:

1. Legal in new york state

2. Good for hunting

I really am impresssed with this small rifle, I would like to use if for short range hunting. turkeys, rabbits, small deer.

please dont flog me, im new to all this, and would like nice answers

1. I think so, but I wouldn't take my word for it.
2. No. I'm pretty sure that Turkey hunting is shotgun only. IMO, any of the calibers the Cx4 is chambered in is too much gun for rabbits, and you have many, better options for deer hunting. If NYS is anything like CT, there may be restrictions on where you can use a rifle for deer hunting as well.

LOL - one flogging for you! Welcome to the THR! Turkeys, rabbits and small deer - makes me hungry. But, I think there are better choices for such game than the Cx4. Legality, don't know.

Yes, it is legal. It's a non-threaded barrel and thumbhole stock. Not considered an AW. Use pre-ban mags in it.

Legality, I dunno. But for hunting, I think you'd want something a bit more appropriate. It's gonna be tough to take a turkey with a pistol-caliber of any type, and it's a bit big for rabbits. Deer? Not a chance. I'm sure you could hunt one with a pistol caliber, but I'd surely want a bigger pistol caliber than what the cx4 offers, to be sure.

All in all, I'd rate it as a poor choice for a hunting gun, but great for plinking/busting the occasional bottle or clay.
