Beretta M9A1 barrel marked “stainless”

I got a decent deal on a new M9A1 and picked it up at my FFL yesterday. It’s the standard blued/Bruniton finish.

From the muzzle end, the bore doesn’t appear to be chrome-lined like my Italian 92FS or my M9A1 Compact. It’s also marked “stainless” along the top.

I thought all 92 variants except the Inox pistols had chrome-lined steel barrels. Anyone know anything about this?

I found this while researching barrels, so maybe Beretta did do a blued stainless barrel at some point?

Despite the description, it seems unlikely that it was chrome-lined.
