I don't know if any of you have been following the development of the Beretta Nano, but pistols are finding their way out into the wild and we're starting to get "real person" reviews of them. Early info seems to be overwhelmingly positive:

I'm most impressed that the Nano seems to work, right out of the box, with no factory-recommended break in period where reliability is not to be expected (think Kahr).

The factory video where they strip the lube off and fire 1,000 rounds with zero issues is pretty amazing.

The Nano is on my short list.

Personally I would never carry any pistol that I hadn't verified to be reliable, whether or not is was recommended by the manufacturer. Call it a break-in period, but for me it is a period of building trust. Incidentally, my Kahr PM9 was reliable out of the box.

I "think" I like it, but will wait to see how it works out.

After taking it down enough times, I am thinking that slot of the disasembly pin will look pretty rough, like a screw head would.

If I didn't own a Walther PPS (.40) I would be all over this. I still may pick one up if opportunity is right. I have not had a single Beretta firearm malfunction and have owned five in the past (two were shotguns though). Maybe just luck but that is one brand I am very happy with. My only other completely reliable guns have been a Remington 870, a Mosin Nagant 1944, and my sig 226.

EDIT: the PPS has been reliable for 300 rounds too.

I wasn't asking gLocK for anything, however, I'm not at all surprised Beretta has a winner. They're a quality maker of firearms and I expect this pistol will be as reliable as the 92X series has proven to be.....There are a lot of pistol makers who better hope Beretta doesn't start spending extra $$ on Pistol R&D, beyond this little pocket pistol.

That's cool. Mine was not. Even after a trip to Kahr. Sold it and moved on. The Beretta is looking pretty good in the micro 9mm market and will undoubtedly take a chunk out of Kahr sales.

Everybody knows Kahr PM9's usually work right away, or at least after the break in period. But early reports on the Nano seem to indicate they just work out of the box with no BS malfunction forgiveness period like Kahr.
