Saw two LNIB .22 LR samples (they were display models almost) at the gun show in Jax, FL today. What would be a fair price for this model? Btw, they were priced at $420 and $475, respectively.

Regards and Semper Fi!

First, let me say that your taste is excellent. Beretta has made some of the nicest, most reliable .22 plinkers available.

On the other hand, $475 is a little steep for a Model 70. For that kind of money, you can get into a nice, used 87 Cheetah if you look around (took me a while to do so) and have something with double-action (if you care) and factory support. I'd probably not give more than three and a half for an LNIB M70, and I really like these guns.

I own a 87 Cheetah (non-target model) and a 72 Jaguar (like the 70, but it also has a 6" barrel), of the two I much prefer the 72. I'd pay ~$400 for a LNIB 70.

I have a Model 70S that I bought new for around $170 nearly 30 years ago. Nicest little plinker ever made. I had it hard chromed plated after having the gun reblued by the factory because there was an issue with surface rust on the slide and frame both times. I would go $350, $375, maybe even $400 if the gun was in mint condition. I think it would be well worth it.
