Shot a friends Beretta Nano several weeks ago and was very impressed with the reliability and accuracy from the 7 yard line. Located a new (old stock) on GB and purchased it for under $300 out the door. The serial number dates the pistol as 2014 production. So here’s my question. Is the finish on the slide and barrel corrosion resistant? I’ve read quite a few reviews on the Nano and not a single word as to the durability of the finish. I haven’t heard anyone complaining about the Nano enigma prone to rusting. For a pistol, like the Nano, intended for concealment I can’t imagine that the finish wouldn’t be corrosion resistant. All Beretta states is that the slide and barrel are steel and finished in black nitride. Anyone know the answer to this one?

Black nitride is your answer....Nitride finishes are passivating finishes=very corrosion resistent. Trade names such as Mellonite and Tennifer may be specific to a proprietary process but they are "Nitride".
