ive yet to see an official release date for the Pico, not have I heard of them being available anywhere.

That is a very very tall pistol for just being a 380 ACP. And unfortunately, none of that extra distance from top to bottom is found in the grip - it is found between where the trigger meets the bottom of the frame and the top of the slide.

Hammer fired is the reason for the extra height. At least the Pico has an external slide lock. The one thing I hated about the Nano (and the PPK) is the only way to lock the slide back is with an empty magazine.

Looks like they have updated the Pico area on the Beretta website...hopefully this means a release is imminent. At SHOT reps said it would be out 2nd quarter of 2014 and that would be by the end of this month. I have not found any in stock anywhere as of today.

This is one of the last guns on my Bucket List and I'm a Beretta lover from way back. I'll be one of the first to buy one of these - soon as I see it I'm buying it. Been waiting a long time. Not that I'm all anxious or anything.

Yeah, I'm primarily interested in the Pico for the touted "drop in" .32 option if they proceed with offering that. Actually, now that we have another .380 in the house (Glock 42) that is my Wife's Pet I have dies and bullets for reloading .380 anyway.

So if I never get the .32 barrel I won't be that upset. I like .380 just fine in the Pico since I saw videos of folks shooting them at SHOT...I was concerned that they'd be a handful with recoil but they fire from a locked breech like the G42 and have a lot less recoil than originally feared.

There was a Beretta produced video on the Pico when it was first announced. The shooter could barely hold on to the tiny grip.

I apparently didn't see that video....saw a bunch of others though. Mostly from SHOT 2014. The gun doesn't look to be that tough to shoot to me but everyone is different.

It doesn't look unmanageable in any of these vids to me *but* again that's highly variable from person to person. My Wife is 5' and 110 lbs and has a devil of a time with recoil due to arthritis. She has settled on her Glock 42 for her personal gun. We'll report back on the Pico when we get one but we shot a lot of .380 pistols.

I don't think she'll have a problem with the Pico - a lot of folks with larger hands are having a lot of trouble with the G42 as well. I chalk it up to different strokes for different folks. One size does not fit all in pocket pistols.

You have to at least hold it even if you can not shoot it, I'am glad to see the input about the Pico. Was wondering. Guess they updated. Thanks GuyZ! And yes I should have never have gotten rid of my CHEETAH380! I was able to pull some strings and get the 42g,and am working on the pico.:scrutiny:

OK I finally got to hold the pico. Canellas have it and will be selling them in 2 days.

I personally didn't like it to thin, trigger guard to big and the mag release is in the worst spot, sharp and a bear to push on to release.

So I got the Kahr cw .380

If the Pico proves to be reliable I will have one. I am a firm believer that all pocket pistols should have european type magazine release. Unlike the thumb type the heel type is more resistant to inadvertent mag release and is ambidextrous. Perhaps the picos mag release will fall some where in the middle, I will need to hold one for more input.
