I am considering a compact double stack 9mm with a slide mounted decocker/manual safety. It is mainly something I just have gotten a bug for, but could find time as a carry piece.

Right now, I have it (kinda) narrowed down to a Beretta Storm (compact, not sub compact) and a S&W 469, 669, or 6906.

Which of these would you choose, or do you have any other suggestions. I have looked at the Stoeger/Beretta Cougar and do not like the feel of it in my hand. I also owned a Ruger P95 at one point and just think it is too big for my needs

PX4 Storm

I have no experience with the other guns you are considering, but I own 3 PX4's, full size, compact, and subcompact. They are all great guns, reliable, accurate, easy to maintain, and of excellent quality. The recoil on the full size and compact, with the rotating barrel, is minimal.

No Smith & Wessons here but lots of Berettas and Rugers among other pistol makes. Of my Berettas, two are full size PX4s (9 & 45). The PX4 fits the hand well and I find Berettas in general to be extremely reliable and easy to care for. You won't be disappointed with a PX4.

Px4 full size or Compact - same

...

Between the 2 Px4 40/G's I've owned, full size, but the Compact, having the rotating barrel, is beautiful concept that offers less felt recoil and less barrel movement, up or down, being that it only rotates, offers excellent, on-going accuracy.

And, as mentioned, very easy to dissemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble, the same as the Sig's I own.

14k flawless rounds and dependable and reliable with most any ammo that I've put thur mine..

IF they were CA approved, they're not, I'd buy one, Compact, in a heartbeat as their size, like the P229/228/225 Sig series is near perfection in Compact size and - the Px4 Compact, being a tad smaller, is IMHO, even better, with full grip, 3 choices of backstraps to get the best grip feel for ya..

"They deliver" on-going satisfaction, a must in my world

Luck,

Ls
