I held a Beretta Bobcat the other day and this piqued my interest in the Tomcat. I like the size of it. What are your thoughts? Is the 32auto worth its weight? As opposed to say...a .380??

I'm kind of kicking the idea around of trying to pick up either the Tomcat, a Ruger LCP or maybe the NAA Guardian 380....oh! and I almost forgot about Micro Eagle!

Nope, stay AWAY from the Tomcats. The frames crack on nearly all of them. And when the cracks form, they often can't be seen with the naked eye, yet they will begin to spontaneously fail to feed, fail to eject, etc. Do a Google search on Tomcats and frame for more info.

Beretta's not fixing the problem, either. I don't know what it's current policy is.

Just don't buy a Tomcat.

I do not like to tell people what they should buy...but I have no problem telling people what they should not buy. :D STAY AWAY FROM THE TOMCAT!!! I had one and the frame cracked within the firt 50 rounds. The INOX is supposed to be better, but I don't trust it. :uhoh:

My Inox Tomcat broke it's firing pin in less than 200 rounds plus some dry fire (using a spent case as a snap cap). The double action and single action pull were, to put it bluntly, awful.
I'm a big Beretta fan, but I do not recommend the Tomcat in any of it's versions.

www.berettaforum.net for more horror stories.

If you run a search on this forum regarding the Tomcat, you'll find a dozen or more hits in the past couple of months alone, with any number of THR members weighing in on the Beretta. This seems to be a gun that people either love or don't. But the folks who do not, and I'm among them, have good, specific reasons -- and often more than just a few -- behind their dislike.

I was asking because just in case I came across something at the local gun show, I wanted to know if I should jump on it or not....I did find a DEAL on an LCP though....$400 out the door!!:what: NO! I didn't buy it.

(btw...they were selling stripped Spikes Tactical AR lowers for $299...the guy even said "Supply and Demand"):scrutiny:
