Hello everybody on this board! I am new to the high road. I got a question on the new beretta vertac. Do they accept the 15 round magazines from a 92FS or they are a totally new design? I would like to know more about it because I am looking for another range pistol. Thanks!

Hi Brass!

The Vertecs use the same mags as the standard 92FSs. I use 15-round 92FS mags in my Vertec. In fact, most of the parts are interchangeable I believe.

The only thing that is not interchangeable (that I am aware of) are the grips. - Hammer springs etc. all seem to be compatible as far as I know.

The Vertec SEEMS to have a harder trigger pull than the standard model. I got the hammer spring pack from Wolff and that solved the problem. - VERY easy to install too.

Thank you Logistar! I got 3 pre-ban magazines and I like to be able to use it on my new gun. One day the slide might seperate on my old 92FS and crack the lower you know.

Logistar answered things extremely well, but let me add something as to trigger pull...

The Vertec comes standard with a 92 "short" trigger, which is a bit of a modification to the original 92 design. You can swap it out with your standard 92 with no problems, and it changes the reach a bit...I think. I don't own one, so can't testify for sure. ;)

The easiest and smartest thing to do with a new 92 (Vertec or not) is to trade out the standard hammer spring with one from the "D" model Berettas...it lowers the DA pull from around fifteen pounds to eight.

It costs $3.00 from Wolff or Beretta USA, and can be done in two minutes. It's a very easy way to get a much nicer trigger pull.

Have fun with your Vertec! They're awesome! :)

Lictalon - if I do as you suggest & swap out springs, how will this affect the SA pull? My 92fs has a nice trigger as is, I'd hate to swap out a spring and end up w/ mushy triggers.

10-Ring (if I may chime in here), I liked the Wolff "hammer spring pack" for the Beretta. It came with 16, 17, 18, and 19 lb springs. (The "standard" spring is 20 lbs I believe.)

You can pick the spring you like best. I have had NO problems with the 16 lb spring so far - but I could always go up a pound or two if I was ever worried about ignition in a CCW type situation.

As for the SA pull, it is better now. Both the DA and SA pull improved noticeable when I switched out that spring. (If I was carrying it now I might switch to stronger spring to insure ignition in the colder weather during this time of year, however.)

FWIW - Logistar
