A buddy inherited a Bernardelli .380. It looks a lot like a PPK but this think has either a 6 inch or maybe even an 8 inch barrel with the front sight at the end of the barrel. The front sight and a fitting screw off so the blowback operated slide can come off forward.

Bernardelli has a website and they do seem to have a lot of handguns, mostly autos and even some revolvers. It looks like what they are calling the p90 which is available in .22LR and 9mm (9mm Kurz or .380 perhaps?).

At any rate, the insides seem rather roughly machined although it is otherwise a pretty nice pistol.

Anybody know anything about this gun or Bernardelli in general? I think they make a lot of high end over unders but the do seem to have a lot of handguns too.

A friend had one many years ago, .380. He sold it because his student loans were coming due, but always said it was a keeper. Everyone has different priorities about choosing a handgun, what I don't like about this one is the heel magazine catch.

My dad has an Olympic grade pistol that is a beautifully made gun. Balanced perfectly and shoots oh so sweet. No tool marks on it at all on the inside, so I'd guess the "grade" of the pistol determined quality. It's the only one of it's kind I've ever seen in person, but I understand they could be found in the 80's.

I think your gun is called the AMR. I bet it has thumbrest grips. I have a mod 80 in .22lr and a mod USA in .32acp.

Both of mine are quite accurate but the fact they have two manual safeties and a mag safety bugs me.

Also the heel mounted mag release is real tight on my guns.

This company makes good guns but they are somewhat unknown and unappreciated in the USA.

In the '70's, Bernardelli offered two models, the Model 80 and the Model 100. The Model 80 was a medium frame, Walther PP sized semi-auto, available in .22, .32, and .380. The Model 100 was a target pistol, with a 5.9" barrel, barrel weight, ribbed slide, and walnut thumbrest stocks.
