Who has good BE-86 or Unique data for the Berry's 9mm 124 gr Hybrid Hollow Point (similar to Speer GDHP)? Looking for something similar to a self defense equivalent load.

I would consider other powders as well, but these two stand out from what I've read to far as good candidates.

I haven't used either of your listed powders. But I did loads with Silhouette, HS-6, Longshot, and CFE Pistol. Out of these powders, HS-6 was the one that I felt was able to get at the recommended velocity without going into +P.

This load may vary for other barrels.

With the Berry's HHP 124 gr. bullet, I worked up to 6.8 gr., but backed down to 6.7 gr. I seated them at 1.040", I have 1 finicky barrel. Most people, I believe are seating at 1.060", IIRC.

Remember, be safe, YMMV! :)

According to Berry's site, they recommend.
COL = 1.060"
Recommended velocity = 1100 fps

Alliant's website BE-86 for a generic 124gr JHP that the tested COL is 1.12"

I will have to start a bit below Alliant's 5.7 recommendation given the much shorter COL.

Not to split hairs, but my box, Lot #091515570P11 (I assume they were produced Aug. 15, 2015), shows Muzzle Velocity. 1125 fps. I hadn't seen that on their site. I bought mine at Powder Valley way before Berry's listed them. I see now they lowered it a bit.

The reason I'm curious, some people were getting results of the bullet coming apart in certain media. Plus, in my search, it seems only a handful of powders will get the 124 gr. above 1125 fps within standard pressures.

I just received mine about a week ago. I would t think there is a ton of functional difference between 1100fps and 1125fps

Also, that info was from their website. I haven't checked the box for any info.

Off thread but Snuffy also did a test of the RMR 125gr HPs (not the target ones there are two now) These are the ones designed to expand.

They are $61 for 500 and RMR offers THR memners a 5% discount with the code.
They seemed to work better in Snuffys test. (tahnks for testing them for them for me/everybody, Snuffy, I appreciate it)

In my tests in 9mm BE86 seemed to run a little hot. If I was you I would start at 4.7 maybe 5grs.

Not the same bullet but some numbers from my tests

Can't find where I put the data right at the moment but as I recall 5gr of BE86 with the 124 FN was close to 1100fps in my 5" 1911 9mm.

This is prefect. I was looking for a range of charges to work with. I'll load up a few and see what shoots well for me.
