I tried both
After a few thou of each, my Colt and LCP can't tell the difference between the two. The shorter bullet doesn't have to seat so deeply for the same finished OAL, which might be important to you since the 380 case wall is thicker in the middle and tends to make an unsightly bulge. But the longer HBRN are easier for me to pick up and and set on the case mouth under the seating die, any bulge makes no difference in feeding and chambering. They both shoot the same, but don't forget that I'm not shooting highly accurate target guns at 50 yard targets.
The choice is yours. Please report back to us if you find a difference on the target.
Off topic: I bought a ProMag for the Ruger LCP last month and put about a thousand rounds through it. Totally flawless. So I bought another and I'm doing the same. They are half the cost of Ruger magazines, equally reliable, and have the extended finger-grip base pad.
