I'm looking for a decent scope in the $200 range, probably a 2x7 or a 3x9.

Considering Nikon Buckmaster, Burris Fulfield II, Bushnell Elite 3200, and Weaver Classic V. It's going on a Browning BLR, so nothing over 3x9x40.

They're all pretty close in price, size, weight. My preferences would be for good light transmission, ruggedness, and warranty and customer service.

Any recommendations, info, experience, etc. would be appreciated. If you have any of these, I'd also be interested to know where they're made.

If you have a recommendation other than the models listed, I'd like to hear that too.

Please don't tell me to wait and buy a more expensive scope.

Thanks

I think all the manufacturers you listed offer very decent optics in that price range. I have Nikon, Bushnell, Burris, and Weaver on my rifles and all are very good. But my personal choice would be a Weaver Classic V, either a V9 or V10. I mounted a V10 on my new Winchester Model 70 Featherweight and it's great. Bright, clear, repeatable adjustments, everything you look for in a good scope and it's relatively compact in comparison to some of the others and looks just right on the Featherweight. I also own two other Weavers and have been very favorably impressed by their quality. They're made in Japan by Light Optics Works.

My Nikon and Burris were made in the Phillipines and my (older) Bushnell is Japanese made. All are good quality optics.

I'm partial to Bushnell Legends and 3200s. In my opinion you can't do any better for the money. I have a legend 2-7x32 I paid $116 for brand new and I couldn't be any happier.

Legend 3-9x50 is $134 on Amazon.com right now. Elite 3200 3-9x40 is $186.
