I have a Marlin 1894 (1989 vintage) and it did not come with swivel mounts. I looked online at Uncle Mikes and got bad quality reviews so I ordered a Blackhawk brand.
It is the 2 piece device that clamps on to the magazine tube. It suggests using a thread lock adhesive to secure the device to the tube.
I followed all the instructions and thought it was on really secure. I left it overnight as instructed, however, this morning I checked it and it moves about an eighth of a turn back and forth.
If it was to be a sure enough permenant installation I would consider using solder and sweating it on like you'd do with a copper pipe connection.
But I hesitate to do that since it might not work out and I'd need to do one on the metal fore end cap instead.

Is their a really good adhesive that will do this job.
Thanks

RC I have several Uncle Mikes mag tube clamps also that have worked well for years. The idea I get from recent product reviews on Midway USA is that they are now made over seas and not using good steel. Most reviews say the threads strip before you can get the clamp tight.
I am looking locally for the Loctite 380. So far no luck may just need to order from Brownells or Midway. Thanks

I put a Uncle Mikes on a 12 ga Ruger Red Label ~18 years ago with red Locktite, and hunted ducks hard with it in the swamp, and its still on there just fine.

I have the Uncle Mike .22 mag tube swivel on a Taurus pump .22 locked with nailpolish and it has held for years. When I have wanted a semi-permanent assembly, I don't hesitate to use epoxy. The nailpolish seal has held well (de-greasing all surfaces well with lighterfluid then acetone assures a good adhesive seal; cleanup squeezed out excess before it sets).
