I want to get an ankle holster for my colt cobra and am wondering what a good one is? I was considering the ankle rig lou alessi makes everything he makes is top notch. Also whats the best types of pants to wear with these rigs?

any pair of pants that will be loose enough in the leg to keep the gun and holster from printing, and will also be easy enough to draw up over the holster and and draw the gun without snagging. boot-cut jeans work well for me.

Alessi is absolutely top-notch. Long wait though.

Check out the ankle holsters made by Ken Null in Georgia. They're not *quite* as nice as Lou Alessi's, but they are infinitely better than anything you'll get off the shelf -- and you'll get it in under two weeks.

I have carried a lightweight J-frame in one for about 6 months and have no complaints. In fact I'm ordering one for a Kahr PM40 in the morning. Ken does good work, and they are well worth the money.

Even if you decide to eventually upgrade to the Alessi, the Null holster will make a dependable spare.

I have an Alessi for my Colt DS. Even with the heavy steel gun the Alessi rig makes it forgettable.
