Who makes the best armorer's wrench for ARs? Particularly, for breaking loose the castle nut on the buffer tube to remove the tube from the lower receiver. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Depends.

Old Colt style round pin nuts?
Or the more common type with notches seen today?

In either case?
Grind out the staking punch mark with a Dremel carbide bur.
If there is a chance it was put on with Lock-Tight?
Heat it smoking hot first.

And gofer it.

Thanks RC

I enjoy your posts on THR and for these helpful ideas on the AR wrenches. The Brownell's wrench has the best reviews.

You have been a big help to me on a number of issues on this forum. I'm grateful.
