Who has the best prices on .452 -.457 balls? Eventually I want to cast but in the mean time I'd like to find a good source. It's odd that simple cast lead balls seem to be as much or more expensive than cast bullets for centerfire cartridges

I got super lucky once at a pawn shop and got over 1,000 for about $5.00, I stop by all the local shops on occasion to see what unusual items are pawned.
Very few folks go into a pawn shop to buy black powder supplies, so the shop owners are usually happy to get rid of what they have.

Otherwise, keep an eye on e-bay, and garage sales. A few good items come up from time to time.

Also.... communicate with sellers there, they often have stuff laying around that they are willing to make a deal on.

The shipping is going to kill ya if you buy on ebay or mail order because lead is so heavy. I used to buy from Cabela's at $12/box of 100.

Then got myself a Lee mould for $18 and in a few days had more ammo then I will ever be able to use. :D

Actually I buy bullets on line all the time if the seller uses US Postal Service Priority mail which will take up to 70lbs (provided it will fit in their box) for $8.10 and I will usually have it in 3 business days.

Grafs.com

$7.39/100 with $3.95 shipping no matter how many you order. $10.99 for a pound of Goex too.
