Howdy y'all! Been awhile, sorry to say I ran out of money to necessitate gun questions..

Wondering what the twist rate of a Remington 760 .308 is and so what the best bullet weight would be.

Local gunsmith said the twist rate on them (whatever it is) favors 165gr. bullets or so.

Anyone else have a favorite food recommended for Remington 760 .308's? Thanks!

The standard twist rate for the .308 Win has always been 1-12" starting with the military M-14, with some more recent commercial rifles being 1-10".

As such, it will handle any bullet weight you chose to shoot in it, ranging from 110 grain JHP varmint loads, up to probably 200 grain RNSP.

There is no way to tell you what weight, or brand, or bullet type your specific rifle will shoot best.

But you can't go wrong testing 150 to 165 grain loads until you find which one your rifle likes best.
