Shot the Steel Challenge Match today with my 617 with C-More Railway Sight and bested my top time since coming back to shooting 4 years ago.
I bested my best time by 17 seconds and my average by 40 seconds. Yeah for the Revolver.
I had all of my DS-10 reloaders set up as well as 3 boxes of ammo in 140 round boxes. Having enough pre-loaded makes the day go that much faster.
One problem today, standing in the box for my first run on Accelerator I waited for the timer, came up for the first shot and my gun would not fire. Off to the Safety Area for inspection and I found two problems. The mainspring had fallen off the hammer strut and the firing pin had busted.
Fortunately one of the shooters was able to get the retainer pin out by using a knife. My fingers didn't work because they are so big. The firing pin had to be replaced and I was prepared enough to have and extra in my tool kit.
I went back to my squad to complete my score, you are allowed 30 minutes to make a repair. This time all rounds fired and I completed the stage. I did real well since the first run was my slowest and didn't count for score.
Smoke & Hope turned out to be my fastest stage. I didn't even see my dot and managed a total of 12 seconds on the stage. My fastest stage.
I love shooting revolver and will continue for the next 6 months and then I'll go back to my Black Mamba
