I've been searching here but no luck. Maybe my search terms?

I'm looking for a deal on about 1-2K rounds of .223 for AR use (1 in 9 twist)

I'm currently zeroed for 55 gr USA ball. I have a few hundred rounds of that left, but would consider something better.

Also, if there is anything I should stay away from, I would appreciate a heads-up.

Suggestions, links?

Thanks in advance

Federal XM-193

Widely available - price generally reasonable (35-40 cents per round).

Not "match grade," but plenty hot, and every bit as accurate as any .223 ball you will find.

For vendors, check the Ammunition forum in ARFCOM Equipment Exchage.

I just picked up Silver Bear 62gr HP Boat Tail and I am very pleased with it, I am sure I paid a little more for it since I bought it local instead of online but I like supporting the local gun shop I paid 278.00 for it I think.

I am running it out of my Robinson Arms XCR, at 25 meters off hand I was able to get 30 rounds in the X of a human siloutte firing fairly rapid and at 75 meters from a hasty knelling positon I was able to get a 1.75-2.00 inch group on the X of a Human Siloutte, and I am sure that the ammo is capable of better.

I found 200 rounds of Federal LC primer crimped .223 at Wally World for 76$.

38cents.

I think you can go down to 30cents by shopping around.
