Thanks, and you're right. That Llama is......well, it shoots good. :scrutiny:

This box of Silver Tips has a $20.95 price tag on it...bought several years ago however.

I did recently buy a box of original style Silver Tip 9mm 147 grain for $20.00. That is a different subject though.

The old style Winchester Silvertip pistol bullets had a thin aluminum jacket over soft lead, and expanded quite a bit better than these brass jacketed rounds. I'm not sure why they discontinued making them, but I'm holding on to my last box for when I carry my PPK, and using the FMJ stuff for target practice. Last gunshow I went to, an ammo dealer had a box of 50 .32 Silvertips, and was asking $85 for them. Even those new brass jacket "Silvertips" are pricey, going for over $40 a box, compared to about $15 for Winchester FMJ .32s.
Nickel plated case brass is what they said when I called Winchester.

I bought these when I bought my NAA Guardian. The smith at Gander told me to get some Silvertips when he noticed me buying it since that's what he carried in his Seecamp and it has a good track record. But that was the old style of Silvertip.
Guardian Gold in this caliber has been promising. It'll expand just slightly, not quiet mushrooming but the pedals do open up slightly to give the bullet a nice sharp edge for penetration. I mean we are talking only 15 grains heavier than a .25 acp.
