best factory 308 round

The Federal Match is certainly my "favored" round. I have used it in many matches in my M1A and it shoots more consistently than I ever will. Maybe a bit pricey but you can get it just abot anywhere over the counter. Which is a type of consistency unto itself.

Don't fall victim to the propaganda.... The seminal Federal load may have reigned supreme back in the day, but my $.02 is that Black Hills is the new champ for 168 & 175's.

I have seen Federal groups shrink with Black Hills in an M1A, Rem 700, FN patrol, and a DPMS gasser. I won't shoot anything else, and the brass is awesome for reloading!

Can't imagine why you'd get blown primers with BH.... I've burned through several cases with zero problems.

Bottom line is buy a bunch of loads and whatever works best, stock up on it while you can!

For the money I spent a few years ago, the best factory round I have is surplus Portuguese NATO ball.

I paid $00.13 per round and it will shoot MOA and sometimes sub-MOA groups if I do my part.

I've been using Black Hills 175gn and find it to be really nice and consistent. The price ain't bad either and I had it in a couple of days. Just be sure to check stock... he sells a lot but does get it back in quickly.
