Just a question,

What auction sites have you used that you have been pleased with, for firearm purchases?

I understand that its the seller on the site, not the site itself, that sells the firearm, but some sites have a better format, or better prices, or a better crowd than others.

I personally really like:

Gunauction.com

http://www.gunauction.com/

It is the NRA's official auction site, I believe, and even though its much smaller than other auction sites, the crowd seems to be a little more level-headed with their pricing and bidding...a fair amount of selection, and some really good bargains at times.

Gunsamerica.com

http://www.gunsamerica.com/

I use this one more as a used gun site than an auction site and prefer to "buy it now" as their live auction format is complicated and hard to search....but I'll look for specific guns that I'm interested in. The prices are usually pretty reasonable, and selection is usually pretty good as well

I will personally avoid:
That really popular site, I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about. I feel they have gotten too big for their britches to be able to moniter their site, and have decided to focus on selling auction space at the expense of buyer protection. Very popular also means lots of people driving bids up

Does anyone else know of or prefer any online auction sites they would like to share?

NRA site...I've bought from them for a lot of years. Never had a problem with Manny or any seller.

Yes, all of these internet sales went through a FFL and 4473!

Gun Auction Site

I have sold firearms on more websites than I can count. Years back I got my C&R and met a whole lot of other collectors. Then I got an FFL-1 as I got to know more about the industry and people.
Now what I have known as AuctionArms.com redirects you to gunauction.com
It's the best place for buying or selling if you are a collector or buyer/seller,
besides my website of course

Just did a search for P238 on both of the sites you mentioned because I am bidding on one on the site which you don't mention. No comparison. GB has far more options. Results are everything. I have to find a "Lady" for my lady.

I like gunauction.com haggle system where if your the high bidder and do not meet the reserve price the seller may contact you to haggle the price if he really wants to sell it. The only thing I do not like about it is that it does not have the wide selection as gunbroker does. I do not like gunsamerica.com, they have the most expensive prices for firearms in my opinion, I primarily use gunbroker for my firearms purchases and had no problem with them, it can be a good site if you know how to use it, I have got many bargains from them, my most recent being an Arisaka rifle in very good shape with the anti-aircraft sights for just $131 dollars. I have known from experience that if an auction ends on a friday evening or on the weekend you are more than likely going to pay top dollar for the firearm you want, since most people are home for the weekend and will bid bid bid :( but if it ends on the week day in early morning there is chance you will get it at a good price most of the time, those smart phones we have can be an advantage and a curse if you know what I mean ;)
