Best format for pocket carry?

Too, I'd have to figure a way to grind that stupid rail thing off the frame. What the heck is that doin' on a pocket gun!?

Gotta admit I kinda chuckled at that one too. Didn't you know.... a rail makes it "tactical". :p I'm thinking of adding a rail on my cat because everyone knows a "tactical" cat would catch more mice than a normal one. ;)

Glad your P11 is reliable. Looks like you got the pick of the litter on your KelTec and I got mine on the AMT. :D

And I disagree on the way to spend $800. In 3 years, anything you ride to work is going to be worth far less than it cost now. Very few used guns depreciate at the rate of vehicles. Drive an old Toyota and spend your hard earned cash on better things.

Oh, I donno. Friend of mine bought a police impound Harley shovel head for $900, rebuilt it, fixed it up, and got $12,500 for it. That's a pretty good appreciation. ;) Not sure what he put into it in parts, but being as he teaches motorcycle and marine mechanics at Cedar Valley College south of Dallas, and knowing how cheap he is, I bet he got most of it for free or near so. I know he's a friggin' perfectionist. That bike ran better than any TC88 ever to roll off an assembly line.

If gas keeps going up, invest in Piaggio (a scooter manufacturer in Italy). :D

Oh, and I ride an old GoldWing. ;) :D Toyotas have too many wheels.

Do any of you consider a PPK a pocket carry? Thanks!

Well, I went and bought one, and basically no, I don't. I've been hesitant to weigh in on this thread because frankly, I haven't made up my mind yet. Looking for a pocket carry gun, I started with a Colt 1903 in .32 ACP, went to a Colt Agent, S&W 296, added a 640, then a Model 38, then the S&W PPK/S.
Pretty much nothing worked for me the way I'd imagined it would, although they're all great for IWB or OWB concealment carry... I think maybe my pockets are defective. I've kind of given up on pocket carry for the moment, although I've become really comfortable with some of the small holsters that really hide the gun in your waistband. I feel like Homer Simpson or something, "What about pants? Don't you hate pants?" but pockets really suck nowadays.

Makarov

My Bulgy Mak fits nicely in my fron shorts/jeans pocket in a DeSantis stealth holster. Its my primary summer carry here in texas (where summer can last 8 mos :>)

I routinely carry a pistol off duty every day. In my case the pocket was the best and primary place to do so. For years I carried a S&W Model 38 Bodyguard made in 1959. It was a great option and a everyday companion in a Uncle Mikes or DeSantis pocket holster. For those days when larger pockets were encountered or I went places that were a little less friendly I carried my GLOCK 26 in a Uncle Mikes or Desantis pocket holster. These two guns handled the majority of my off duty carry needs and would do so today except for one thing. I bought a Kahr PM9. The PM9 is smaller and flatter than the J frame with two extra rounds in the gun. The GLOCK 26 only has 3 more rounds in the magazine and is a bigger pistol. The Kahr has become the every day "Always Gun".

I do not wear jeans and instead wear kahkis or BDU style trousers on my own time. The pockets easily conceal the small handguns I own.

For those days when I pack a bigger gun off duty a Beretta Centurion, GLOCK 19 or GLOCK 30 will find its way into my waistband. Even so the Kahr is in the pocket.

The Kahr is the ultimate pocket rocket and one of the best purchases I have ever made. :)

Ultimate pocket carry = Rohrbaugh R9 and yes I have a Rolex! You can waste your money buying cheaper guns to try and pocket carry but you will end up finding out that the Rohrbaugh package is the ultimate in size and caliber for comfortable pocket carry. Their is nothing wrong with the other guns, I even own some of them, but for 9mm pocket carry nothing beats the R9.:banghead:

I carry a Kimber Ultra Carry II in a Sam Andrews pocket holster. 1911 power less one round and it fits perfectly and comfortably. The draw is easy as pie.

I carry my Glock 26 in a pocket holster every day for at least 4 years NO ONE has ever spotted it. I am 5'6" and heavy at 230lbs and carry in my right front pocket.

642....

I had a p11 KelTec 9MM. Not reliable - at least the one I had. The 642 slides in my pocket with a Mika pocket and I don't have to worry if it will go 'bang' when I pull the trigger (like I did with the Kel Tec). Just my 2 cents...I really like the 642.

I also have a Ket Tec p32 for summer carry when I am in a situation where I only have shorts and a summer T shirt. I did not have the 642 last summer, so I can't say I have tired the 642 when dress in the summer.

I don't do the fanny pack thing - that might be an option for summer carry.
