Best Group You have ever shot

My best "group" was a 149-4X in an F-Class match (F-TR) from the 300 yard line. Two sighters in two minutes, S1 and S2, followed by 15 shots for record in 15 minutes. It was a windy day so we were all fighting it a bit. My only "9" was the 14th shot. I was happy with this effort because I've always found the 300 yard stage to be intimidating. The X ring is only 1.4" and the 10 ring is 2.8".

Here's the rifle.

Best I've fired with a hunting rifle in recent memory. Shot with my Winchester M70 wearing a Zeiss conquest 3.5x10-44. Kicker was I left my front bag and rest at home, this was shot off a bipod and rear bag.

I've done a whole lot better with my 30br bench gun, but for a skinny barreled sporter I was delighted.

BTW, this load is approaching toasty, as with all handloads, it is safe only in the rifle it was developed in.

During load development for my R700 LTR .223, I managed this 5 shot group! Rifle shoots .5moa consistantly, but the .205" was majic!!:)

5 yards, CZ82, double taps where the bullet holes were touching. It was sort of a bump fire. Did it a few times in a row. It's not a rifle but it's my best.

Shot sequentially in the order presented over the course of about 20 min. The first and third were Silver State factory loads with a 168 SMK. The second and fourth were my handloads with a 168 Nosler Custom Comp over 41.0gn of Tac. I pulled the shot in the center on the first group. There are three bullets through the center on the last.

The rifle is a Savage action that began life as a Walmart package rifle in .308. The barrel is a $139 20" ER Shaw from Midway fitted with a Bennie Cooley brake. At the time it was in a PDC Custom aluminum stock. Scope was a SWFA SS 5-20x50.

The best group I ever shot (and granted, I shot it at 50 yards, but I shoot how I hunt, and where I hunt in WI I almost never have an opportunity to shoot beyond 100 yards, so I practice at 50) was with my 1942 Mosin Nagant 91/30, sitting at a bench with the forened supported with improvised cross sticks. I put four shots into a group that measured about the diameter of a nickle from center to center.

Because the shots were so close together, I was having a hard time tracking the hits as I had no optics. For some reason, the ammunition I was using (see below) was kicking exceptionally hard, and I was hurting pretty bad after shot four. The fifth shot I pushed straight down about 5 inches because I peeked and the recoil really stung!:banghead: Normally, the 203gr. Brown Bear loads are very comfortable and soft recoilling, but not the 174 gr. loads. Had some curious extraction issues as well...
-Standard sights, adjusted for a 50yd zero, lightened trigger to about 5lbs, shimmed action with no barrel bedding. I used It was a hot day, probably about 87-89 degrees with high humidity. Ammunition was Brown Bear 174gr. 'Match' 7.62x54r.
It's nothing compared to some of the excellent shooting I've seen so far, but I was impressed that I was able to coax near-MOA accuracy out of a 1942 Izzy. Beauty in the eye of the beholder, right?

.486" 5 shot group, 160g cast bullets, from my stock Remington 700, 300 win mag, with a 4-12 AO power Bushnell scope on it @ 100 yards. i have fired several groups close to that, but that was the best so far. you have to love it when a factory production gun can turn out as good of groups as some custom built guns, costing 3 times as much. it also shoots consistent sub moa full power hunting loads also. i am sure this is not the normal for a gun like this. but i am darn glad this one fell into my hands.

One of my better outings in terms of hits, not my best score, especially since looking at it again it looks like I gave myself 4 points too many.

So far, it's .200" with my 6mmBR rifle at 100 yards. I don't have pictures available, but I do have a picture of the target on another computer.

I was so amazed I kept measuring it again, like I made a mistake. LOL

I love that rifle.

Best 5 shot group with Savage 110 in 270 using 130 grain Hornady SST's at 100 yards.

I shot a full magazine from a 1991a1 that group .45 at 100 yards

On one bullet hole on the target,,,

Strange all the dust flying around that 4x8 sheet of plywood with the last 7 shots...

Rifle: A three shot clover-leaf with my friends Tikka T3.......he wasn't happy.

Pistol: A six shot group with my S&W 1917 that could be covered with a Kennedy half-dollar. I stopped experimenting with loads after that one.

Back when I was young, healthy and real good-looking, I had a Ruger .220 Swift. Heavy barrel, 3x9 Redfield, Canjar single-set trigger.

Using the Sierra 52-grain HPBT and 4064, I regularly and reliably had 3/8 MOA five-shot groups.

That load did horrible things to feral cats in my pasture.

I still am young (relatively) healthy and good looking.

The best three shot group I ever hit was with my 25-06 shooting 115g Nosler BT's with 48g of IRM4350. the group was a vertical string touching each other from 100 yds.
