Definitely do not advise him to get a snubbie. Not being a gun person to begin with, shooting a snub nose will discourage him from wanting to practice.

The 4 to 6 inch revolver is the better way to start. The 6 inch is probably best.

I tell people that the first gun should be one that is fun to shoot, If you buy a micro compact 45, you will have a hard time at the range shooting it and when you need it you will not haver time behind it.

Alot of people dont realize that a full size is still concealable if you go that route.
