Include the top 50 by population and add Albuquerque to your number 1 spot for shooting sports. We have a city owned and operated shooting and skeet range. Only 6 bucks a person per visit or 100 dollars a year!

Oooh, me likes the White Oak.

The missus thinks it's too brown, as in no trees. Yes, I know you have some trees out by Tramway, but NM isn't Georgia. They don't get dust on dashboards in the Southeast.

The Phoenix Area, Arizona for that matter, offers some pretty good Shooting sports / opportunities; Indoor, Outdoor, State Run and of course the Desert and BLM Land etc. But like most places you just have to find out where to go and make the time.

Yeah sadly Houston doesn't have much to offer for shooting ranges/clubs.
Couple not mentioned are:

Shiloh Shooting (indoor NW side)
TopGun (indoor range near Galleria)
American Shooting Center (outdoor west side)

I guess it all depends on what type of shooting you plan on doing! As far as pistol or shotgun, the Dallas area has some great ranges. If you are a 3-position smallbore shooter, the number of ranges that allow position shooting are pretty bleak. Most ranges allow only benchrest.

hey

you forgot kingman arizona just drive 1/4 mile away from any building structure or residence and have at it

For overall gun friendly city I would have to say Phoenix or Tucson AZ. with Albq. and SLC not far behind. This may not mean the best ranges but more of an overall acceptance and embrace to the gun culture.

depends on the caliber but id say Washington is the best city for to shoot.

it could be months before anyone noticed it was dead:uhoh:

----------------------

of the top 25 list i think Tampa-St Pete is real nice. lots of clubs and long range ranges.
friends in Sarasota area and been thinking of retiring to that region.

Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the country by population and it is very gun friendly. They have the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix and it is 1640 acres of State Land that is for the Shooting sports. CMP holds the Western Games there every October. The last NRA Convention was there and the folks had a great time.

I would say the Washington D.C. area.....if Maryland's gun laws were like Virginia...and if DC's gun laws were like Virginia...and if they actually tolerated outdoor ranges....

The Az. cities are the ones that make me feel the most welcome while going armed, wish I could say that of my own states big city Denver.
