best load for a win model 94AE 30-30

Hi i just got a 64xxxxx sn'd Winchester model 94AE 30-30, i took it shooting today i was a little confused with the iron sight elevated adjustment, i shot 150 gr JSP rem core lokt they shot a little too high and i shot the 170 gr JSP it shot perfect with the elevated all the way up any help?

don't know the vintage of your rifle by the serial number reference. if it is a newer incarnation, i have to suggest the Hornady LeveRevoltion. rather expensive, but wonderfully accurate and straight-shooting and devistating on whitetail deer. the core-lokt's shoot way high in my Marlin 336 too. the hornady's don't have nearly the rainbow arc trajectory.
