In a single action revolver:

1) Colt SAA
2) Colt Model 1860
3) Colt Model 1851

In a double action revolver:

1) Colt Python
2) S&W Model 686
3) S&W Model 17

The 5" Colt SAA is the best looking IMHO, the downside is it's a pain to reload. :)

My second place pick would go to the S&W 3" Reg. Mag/Model 27

Third is the 6" Colt Python Blued

FWIW:

Certainly not the "best looking" revolver ever made, but pretty darn nice, and my favorite pawn shop "rescue".

I think I paid either $150 or $250 for the old model 49.. (Can't remember which, it was about ten years ago).

Depends on definition. Lots of auto guys load 25 hi cap mags cause they're too lazy to load at the range or maybe it saves 'em money if they pay for range time. Me, I belong to a club, 30 bucks a year, and own land where I CAN shoot. I figure my cap and ball guns would be of NO interest to the lazy, but I love 'em, great fun. :D

A nickel 8 3/8" model 27. Looking down the top of the barrel is an beautiful sight. A Colt Python any finish is not bad either.

Four inch Colt Python or Diamondback, 3.5" S&W Model 27 or 6.5" Model 29.

Python
Schofield
Centennial
Trooper Mk III
Speed Six
3" bull barreled K frame
Remington New Model Army
Colt SAA
Ruger Redhawk
Dick Special
Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Special, bull barrel 1990 vintage.

S&W 19 snub

Colt Python 4"

Colt Single action Army 4 3/4"

Remington 1858 5 1/2" (not historically accurate)

and the list goes on...and on....and on!

Blued Python.

Colt SAA is a close 2nd

Second post had it right. As a brand of revolvers, Smith & Wesson by far, but when you need to list one or two specific ones you can't beat the Python or a SAA.

I have always wanted a schofield, not enough $ in my pocket for one though.:fire: my wife has only ever liked (read not disgusted by) two revolvers. The judge and the lcr:scrutiny:

I kind of like the blued 4'' K-frame S&W with heavy bbl. Also like the S&W 64, but gotta have the wood grips.

I forgot to mention, the Python needs to be a Royal Blue, 6 inch barreled version.
