Cheaper than dirt has none in stock, ditto with sportsmans guide and most of my local retailers. Does anybody have any ideas where I can get 40 S&W at less than $20.00 per 50?

PS. do you think it really makes Obama mad to see how he has made the ammo and gun manufacturers extremely profitable since they can't keep up with the current demand since he took office?

The last few times I have bought online, it was from Cabela's.
Oddly enough, the Walmarts around here always have .40 even though they stay sold out of .45 and 9mm.

Price wise, no contest, Wally World. $12 box of 50 Blazer FMJ .40, $28 box of 100 Winchester FMJ .40, $31 box of 100 Remington JHP .40, $13 box of 550 Federal JHP .22

I love Wal-mart ammo!

They always seem to have .357 SIG ammo but sadly nothing else... I usually hop around small gun shops till I find one with ammo in stock... They usually have it for wal-mart prices around here... sometimes better.

I just grabbed 20 boxes of Blazer Brass 9mm at Walmart for 8.97 / box. Bought all they had. Just have to hit it at the right time.

WMT, but you have to shop early in the morning just after they stock the shelves. .40S&W WWB and Blazer is more available than 9mm or .45ACP locally.

Best place to buy ammo

I have been searching high and low all over south eastern Wisconsin for both 45acp & 9 mm.
I have been to 2 farm stores, 2 wally's, Cabella's, Gander Mtn. a little gun shop in some dinky town even drove 50 north of Milwaukee still no 45acp or 9mm.

I guess I am going to have to get up early several days in a row and hit all the wally's again seems to be the best chance?

All I can ever seem to find is .357 Sig at Wally World, but that is ok since that is what my go to gun (G32) is chambered in. I've actually been able to stock up on ammo while everyone else is struggling to find 9 and 45. Just wish they could keep .22LR in stock...

I bought 6 boxs of 147 9mm american eagle from cabelas last week and it shipped in 3 days!
I went to 2 wally worlds and only .22
in houston area

I just checked with CTD, Midway, J&G sales, and the armory... nothing. I also went to powdervalley.com to see if they had primers. Nothing. Component bullets. Nothing.

Sorry, I realize that isn't helping.

The most reliable souce I have left for ammo is the indoor range I go to which always has Speer Lawman .45acp ball ammo for @$20.00, but they have a 2 box limit these days. - skeeter_08

Like every one else, I vouch for walmart. The ammo I buy, .22LR, was about 40% cheaper here than anywhere else, and I guess I got lucky because they were fully stocked... It was Saturday night.

Another vote for Wally. I've bought 3000 rounds of 9mm and 2000 of .45 ACP there in the last two months. It has taken numerous trips but worth it to buy good ammo at the same price as last year.

Our Walmart in northern ohio is limiting ammo purchases to 2 box's per visit.

Ammo pig-out

One thing really ticks me off: Those ammo pigs who buy out the entire stock of a dealer. Yes, ammo is hard to find. And when I find a dealer who has what I want, I buy only a couple boxes, sometimes only one. I think about the next guy who might live in a really bad neighborhood and needs some ammo for self defense. I won't deprive him of self defense by being an ammo pig. And we have severa dealers around here who think the same as I do, and they will limit the number of boxes they sell to one customer. Let's have a little thought for the other guy---his life might depend on your willingness to be thoughtful.

+1 for Polekitty. The last time I was lucky enough to find ammo in Walmart I bought a couple of boxes of WWB Value Packs for 9 and .45, and the guy behind me bought all the rest of the store's 9mm. If everyone would buy just what they needed, there would be no ammo shortage.
