Best possible active hearing protection?

I also use two ear protector devises when shooting. I have seen what effects shooting/loud noises has done to others and I would like to avoid that. The other issue I have is wearing eye protection. Eye glasses prevent ear muffs from fully seating. Eyes are important, but I sure like having both eyes so glasses are a must. I use:
1. Howard Leight Impact Sport with adjustable volume control.
2. Custom molded ear protection with a sound attenuator (small hole) that reduces loud noises while allow voice level sounds to still be heard. (If you ever come to Camp Perry for the National Matches you can pick up a pair.)

Give me another 20+ years and I will tell you if this approach worked. All I can say is that I am trying my best to protect both my hearing and my sight.
