Hello, I'm in the market for a 9mm FN Hi-Power, and I'm trying to find the best price. I'm in California, so CDNN is out. Are there any other online retailers that have them on the cheap? (I believe CDNN sells theirs for $400).

CDNN can go pound sand. I wouldn't buy so much as a bottle of Hoppes from them. There are other options out there.
I'd love to have one of the Colt SP-1 uppers that CDNN has been selling, but because of their business practices towards California residents I'll do without rather than give them any money.

CDNN will not sell handguns to California, because of our dumb drop test laws where certain guns are "certified" and others aren't.
Basically CDNN won't even sell a handgun that is legal, but they are perfectly willing to take Californian's money for the rest of the stuff they peddle.
Like I said there are other options, and I won't deal with them and encourage other Californians not to spend a penny with them either. Like I said, there are other options out there.

Just purchased a FM Hi Power M95 Detective from Sarco for $296.50, shipping included. They have full sized FM Hi Powers listed for $299. Of course add in your FFL transfer fees on top of that.
Haven't gotten it to the range yet, but nice fit and finish. Amusingly enough it showed up without a magazine? But I have lots of Hi Power mags already and all it took was a call to get a magazine in the mail. Annoying, but they handled it well. Sorry, but I have no idea if there would be any problem with them shipping to California.

Don't blame CDNN, or anyone else who won't sell firearms in the PRK. Instead, blame your legislators for creating a morass of laws that don't make any sense and pose a trap to the unsuspecting. Why should any business have to hire special legal counsel just to make sure that they don't get into trouble in your lousy state?
Maybe you should direct your ire against your elected "representatives" instead of CDNN.

I have nothing but good experience from them. In fact, I check on them first before I browse on other online vendors.

CA law hardly takes a lawyer to figure out. It's real simple, there are approved and "non approved" handguns by CA DOJ. The list is available on the net, and isn't a mystery considering the makes and models are strictly defined. Yeah, it sucks but CA gunners do the best we can. We vote, write letters, but we are outgunned by the Democrat majority.
Some of you from other states can talk trash as much as you want, but rural America is a dying breed. The city slickers are moving in and taking control of the country more every day. That is a sad fact, and is not a good thing for gun rights. In other words, CA gun laws will be coming to a state near you courtesy of left wing legislators.
California if it was a country would rank 6th in terms of it's economic clout as a nation. Despite what some folks would like to believe we buy a crapload of guns here in CA. Maybe that's because in order to live here you must have a decent job in order to survive, and therefore have disposable income. While we might not be able to buy some of the guns that are available in other states, neither do we as a rule have to put in our dentures to work the midnight shift as the Walmart greeter so we can scrape together the cash to buy a Ruger 10/22.
The bottom line is, those of us fighting the fight here in CA don't need crap directed at us from our fellow gunners in other states or vendors like CDNN.

I believe the trend is actually the going the other direction. Just a couple of news headlines lately......
Kansas Representatives overrode the Governor's veto of the concealed carry bill this past Thursday morning. This means Kansas becomes number 47 on the long list of states that allow law abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons.
Gov. Mitch Daniels signed into law legislation endorsing Indiana residents' right to use deadly force against intruders, a change that prevents courts from ruling that individuals should flee first before using a gun.
We just have to keep on keepin on!

To get the laws changed here I fear it would take a huge callamity along the lines of a massive earthquake followed by looting, burning, and pillaging in order for people's minds to be changed regarding RKBA. Even then I'm not so sure.
