I tried the search and turned up nothing so with that said, in your own personal opinion what is the best revolver all around.

Well there can only be one....

Just get a Korth and be done with it.

Here is how the results will breakdown.

Out of 100 responses:

33 S&W (15 of those will specify pre-agreements only)
25 Ruger
25 Taurus
11 Colt
2 Mateba
2 Rossi
1 Korth
1 Glock

Seriously, the best revolver is going to be the one you can shoot the best.

THE best revolver

After months of perusing "What's the best..." threads, I have finally found THE Best Revolver!!!!

Welcome to The High Road.

To answer your question we need to ask one.

Best for what purpose?

"Best," depends on what you want to do with it. "Best" for everything means a compromise, so it's unlikely it will be "best" for any one particular purpose. Obviously the "best" pocket revolver wouldn't be an ideal target gun, and I suspect you don't need something for protection against bears.

Also, do you have a price limit, or is cost not a consideration?

So give us more clues concerning your thinking and our collective membership will come up with some answers.

Your question is like asking "best looking girl in the world?" The answers will be varied and many, my friend.

P. S.

Ruger.:)

It's my favorite so it must be the best

Of course you know that in a public forum like this you’re never going to get people to come to a consensus on something so subjective.

I’m new with handguns but in the past six months have picked up three. I’m not experienced enough to really have and opinion on what is “the best.” I’m not that concerned about “home invasion” and have no need for a concealed carry weapon.

I can however tell you my favorite which would be the Ruger Single Six. It’s just plain fun to shoot and I do it everyday.

Oh by the way, today I'm putting in an order for a Ruger Single Action Blackhawk .357. In about a month, that will be the best handgun ever made. :)

The best revolver is the one you have when you need it. I own an even dozen revolvers currently,:) and have owned several others over the years. I have yet to find a "best" one. I have found several "worst" ones.:neener: I now plan to keep aquiring more revolvers until I find the "best" one.;)

Just get a Korth and be done with it.
Most expensive isn't "best". Korth is both pathetically over-priced and over-rated.

For ME, the best revolver is the S&W Model 27-2. Powerful, accurate, controllable and beautiful. And I've bought two of them for less than half the price of a Korth.

I say, I say, relax son, it was a joke (as was two thirds of my post):D .

Just to repeat, for those who missed it, the "best" revolver is the one you shoot well (plus is reliable). That could be a Korth, or a Rossi, for all I care but you will never know unless you try them out....

I assume by "all-around" you mean multiple purposes. As each is entitled to their opinion, here is mine; for an "all-arounder" the S+W model 65 is the bee's knees.
Stainless finish for ease of care and rust resistance; almost endless selection of ammunition for just about any purpose in two calibers (.38 Special + .357 magnum), big and heavy enough to control whichever of those loads you select, small and light enough to be carried concealed in a pinch; simple manual of arms, adequate sites and almost as many grip options as ammo options.
The harder to find and more expensive 3" barrel would give you a slight edge for carry vs. the 4" but the 4" really carries just fine and gives back a little bit in accuracy and ballistics.

Almost any 4" stainless revolver would fit your bill. the above is just my personal favorite.

I vote Audrey Hepburn for best looking girl. M19 4" S&W for best revolver. You will note both hark from around 1960.

And 1957 Thunderbird for best looking car ever.

Anything I left out here?

Any 4 inch .357 from a major MFG.

If it has a lil horse etched into it, I'll probably like it more.
