the basic design is to get something similar to the japanese arisaka sights
i love the pyramid front post with peep rear

one awesome way (if the height is compatible) would be to use a suresight front sight and a ameriglo ghost ring rear
is this possible ? or is there another ghost ring that would match up?

On what rifle? You're being incredibly vague.

I'm very familiar with the Arisaka sights, as I have an early-model Arisaka that was recovered on Okinawa by my grandfather. The sight calipers are intact.

my buddies arisaka has a peep rear sight and the front post is a triangle
quick with the peep but more precision with the triangle point up front
and talking for a hand gun

Peeps are generally designed to be used closer to your eyes...that is why you don't really see them on handguns. They are meant to be essentially ignored...the front sight naturally aligns in the center of the rear peep, making them quite fast.

On a pistol the same principles don't work, at least with any speed.

I do remember seeing an application of this on a pistol for SD on some television show, the rear peap was huge (like the size of a dime) and sticking way out the top of the pistol.

Standard sights have been used all these years, your best bet is to practice with them...they work GREAT, as is. They are plenty of sizes, styles, finishes, etc to customize to what you prefer. I prefer the post and dot (dot the I) type of sights.

The suresight looks interesting...but you can still only focus on one thing at a time, so the rear would look blurry...I don't see much of an advantage over standard sights...you can get plenty fast with them with some practice.
